| Take a quick tour of the World Famous
Las Choyas Mine. It has been mined for the
past 40 years. It is one of the most unpredictable geodes in
the world, meaning that you never know what treasure
is found inside. In the following are pictures of the
mining operations that take place just to bring these beautiful
geodes to you. |

The geode bed runs 100 ft below
the ground. A drilling machine is used to drill down to
this layer. |

This is what the mine shaft
looks like once the drilling is complete. |
| Once we reach
the geode bed there tunnels are made by pick and
shovel. |
| The excess material
is taken out by wheelbarrow. |
| Geodes are found
enbedded in the white clay. |

Once enough geodes are gathered
they are sacked and lifted to the surface by a motorized
winch. From here they are hauled to the warehouse sized
and sorted for hollowness. 80 % of what comes out of the
mine is solid quartz or agate and only 20% is either hollow
or semi hollow. |

Gem Center USA then distributes the geodes
all over the world. |
